God I wish I could get it together to finish a sock! I really do. Maybe I should go for ankle socks too? Just so I can learn the bloody heel turning stuff!

ankle socks are a great idea, you get to the heel really quickly. the second one i did almost without looking at the pattern, once you get the idea its actually not hard at all...i like the fact that its segmented and you do one bit then the next and each has its own quirks (like what the yarn harlot says in her new book. how mcuh do we all want to be the yarn harlot, by the way, and be torn between knitting and writing!!) and a finished sock is the most satisfying thing ive done, highly recommended :)

Congrats. They're lovely. Well done on your yarn requirements estimation as well! Looks like you could have maybe done two more rows on each at the most!

yes my little left over bit there was to demonstrate how close it was! thankfully the striping made it easy to tell if i was going to have enough. ms spider said she thought there would be enough for ankle socks...clever girl that spider :)
